Lake Powell Hiking
# 6114
Our participants say:
"This program lives up to it's description, with the possible
exception that the activity level is closer to 3 than 4 in my
opinion. The motel accommodations are exceptionally fine, with some
improvement possible in evening meals. The hikes are varied and
interesting, a number of short ones, and one day hike. The
coordinator was outstanding and enhanced our enjoyment of the high
desert by her knowledge and enthusiasm for the area. Page is a fine
town to spend time in also. The participants were all experienced
hikers and we could have done longer hikes, but it was a very fine
experience with a good balance of activities. I liked the
flexibility that was in operation on this program. It was a totally
positive experience and one of the best elderhostel programs I've
known. A possible addition would be photography tips as this is such
a scenic place with unusual light."

"Great sites, informative
and enthusiastic interpretation, firm but responsive management of
the range of interests and abilities of hikers. I especially
appreciated the trips to special places that we would never have
found on our own."
"Spectacular scenery, both grand and intimate."
"Excellent! Her (Joanna Joseph, coordinator), songs, stories and
poetry were great additions"
"One of top Elderhostel programs I have attended"
"Appreciated the (Lenae Tsinnie, Navajo Culture) sincerity and depth
of feelings she shared with us"
"Another wonderful personal Native American experience." (Linda
