Course Description
The Classic Grand Canyon Challenge: Rim To River
From rim to river, the Grand Canyon is the greatest open book of earth's history. As you hike into its depths, from pine forest to desert, from 200 million year old rock to the 1.8 billion year old Vishnu Schist, each footstep will take you 20,000 years back in time. On the rim enjoy lectures and day hikes providing insights on natural and human history. Phantom Ranch, along the banks of Bright Angel Creek, offers a tranquil respite and "a world away" from the rim. Enjoy time to explore both the South Rim and the Phantom Ranch area and to take an inner Canyon hike on layover day.
